Defrocked: Damage Control

You gotta love whenever the Vatican tries to defend itself over its handling of sexual abuse cases…it’s like watching a drunk cheating husband trying to explain to his wife how his dick slipped into the naked woman in front them as she lies spread eagle on their bed…

Defrocked: Damage Control

Does anyone else think 27,500 priests molesting children is a bit of an epidemic, or was that just 27,500 isolated incidents?

So basically, because only 5% of priests like to touch little boys that’s okay? I guess if you wear a funny hat you are exempt from following common decency standards and laws.

The Catholic Church needs to do some serious reevaluating. Because of them, millions of people are completely fucked up. I’m sure their God would approve of that.

It is well documented that the church hierarchy knew and abetted the years of abuse within the church. No statements from American hierarchy or the Vatican can be believed; they’ve been lying about this for years.

Law of Boston spent years fighting investigations and reparations, only to get moved to Rome, out of US jurisdiction and into a cushy job in the Vatican. His replacement, a more pious monk, arranged a settlement; he had to sell Law’s Italian palazzo with adjacent acres for over $100M and his Cape Cod beach house for $2.5M. It’s a good thing.

Just this week the US Supreme Court rejected the church’s attempt to block publishing details of their losses in CT; thousands of pages of testimony from 23 lawsuits the church settled in 2001 will be turned over to four newspapers who filed the original suit. The documents include transcripts of depositions of church officials, including Cardinal Edward Egan, and files from the investigation of priests accused of abuse during the 1960s and 1970s. Should make for some interesting reading over the winter. And it’s a good thing.

Anything that costs the church money and reduces its ability to brainwash children with religious superstition, and sometimes abuse them, is a good thing.

Thank you for the insightful information, Charles. I’ll definitely be looking into that for a future article when everything is released…it’s a very good thing.
