Firefighters Appalled at 9/11 Billboards
International Association of Firefighters press release: “There’s a big difference between honoring and remembering the fallen – fire fighters and civilians – and shamelessly plastering the image of the burning Twin Towers on a purely political billboard with an offensive statement currying favor for or against a political party.”
Well, good. At least it isn’t just us “whacky leftists” that think using a national tragedy (that happened while a Republican was in office) to take a stab at Democrats is below what should be our minimum level of integrity.
However, this billboard does do a fantastic job of highlighting a major issue with our election process. Stuff like that - that absolutely disgusting image, will stick with people. And somewhere, there’s a hill billy lifting his Natty Ice and giving an “Amen” to the message. And you know what? He’ll go vote. And it’ll count. It’s almost enough to make you puke, isn’t it?
Is an International Association of Firefighters protest of the Republican National Convention too much to hope for? It can even count as my Christmas gift, I promise.
