While I disagree with the author that Obama should be focusing time on more speeches about the evils of slavery and the mistakes of the past, the article does offer a nice little history lesson of racism in America that I believe is worth reading. It’s a great topic for discussion for us, but it should be low on his list of priorities at the moment.

You might want to focus on your own vocation, Jon, before you go and criticize how other people do their jobs. In fact, what would you know about talking to others? You don’t even speak to your own daughter! Maybe dying a cold, lonely, old, bitter asshole is your fate, but it doesn’t have to be ours as a nation.

This was in reply to a video we tweeted from Crooks and Liars of Glenn Beck backpedaling over the Holocaust Museum shooter. According to him, the shooter was not a right-winger, even though the guy was about a right-wing as they come, and Glenn also claims that he doesn’t “stir the pot” when it comes to criticism of the left – he simply points out that “the pot is boiling.” I wish I could dunk your head in that boiling pot, Mr. Beck…then you’d really have something to cry about. But let’s end on a fun note…

We tweeted these videos of the sixth annual World Naked Bike Ride, which is a very NSFW way to raise awareness of global oil dependency, and nsfw4me was kind enough to convert it into a SFW link for us. Granted, I like a little nudity with my protest of Big Oil, but I wasn’t aware of this warning service before nsfw4me posted it, so thanks for bringing it to our attention.
