Vote Now in the Muckmaker Awards!

So, have you been wondering what we’ve been up to lately? Well, if you’re a longtime reader, then you may already have an idea, but for the uninitiated, let me proudly announce that we’ve been working hard researching the 2nd Annual 2010 Muckmaker Awards. Unlike most awards ceremonies, we won’t be glorifying the best and the brightest – we’ll be dishonoring the worst people, organizations, businesses, and ideologies of the last year, detailing their misdeeds as we award them the beautiful golden toilet trophy you see pictured on the left. This elegant little work of art is given to them as a reminder of the fine job they’re doing of flushing our world down the shitter, and this year, we want to know who you think deserves these stylish mementos. These are the ten eligible categories:

Worst Newcomer – someone (or something, if you choose a company or group) who is relatively new to the public eye, but is well-versed in making muck.
Worst Pundit – the kind of person who has an answer for everything, but those answers are, of course, always wrong.
Worst Blog – the blog that has spread the most lies and misinformation over the last year, and/or is just consistently misinformed about every issue imaginable.
Worst News Source – the news website, paper, magazine, channel, or program that has delivered the least amount of real news to the public while manipulating what little facts they do deliver.
Worst Corporation – the company who has profited the most from other people’s misery; usually their own employees or customers.
Worst Religious Leader – the most fanatic, hypocritical nut out there who inspires his/her legions to act just as self-righteous as they are.
Worst Religion – the sect of worshipers who took their beliefs to the extreme and probably accomplished the exact opposite of what their god would have wanted.
Worst Politician – the man or woman who makes you question why we even bother voting anymore if this is the best our society can produce to lead us.
Worst Businessman – when he/she isn’t rolling around in our money, they’re busy covering up how they got it in the first place.
Worst Muckmaker – the most general but most important category, this muckmaker transcends all other categories and sets the precedent for assholes across the world.

We already have quite a few names in mind, but we want to know who you believe to be the worst of the worst this year. You don’t have to have a suggestion for every category – just leave us a comment below or on our Facebook, Twitter, or Myspace. The losers will be announced in early January, so let your voice be heard now before we make our final decisions!
