Yes, I know we just talked about this. But, as it’s all over the place right now, I figured we should give it a mention for completeness sake.
So, as with the countless times this has happened before, the affair isn’t really surprising. People cheat on their husband/wife all the time. What was a shock here is how it was handled, and how incredibly unstable this man must be. I mean, honestly – how could you ever think that you could take off for 5 days and have no one notice? And this guy was a potential for the next Republican nomination? Seriously?
What was also very typically un-shocking was that fact that the man-whale Rush found a way to spin this into being Obama’s fault. Essentially, the line was that Sanford was so fed up with the country going to shit because of Obama and the Democrats that he couldn’t take it anymore and had to get out of here. It sounds like a sarcastic line from The Colbert Report, yet it came from the man many peg as the “leader” of the Republican party.
